The super modern and luxurious Daytona International Speedway is the center of Racing, Maybe mostly famous for the NASCAR races. But they arrange many other racing events besides that.
Opening in 1959 the Daytona International Speedway has been the home of Daytona 500, The most prestigious race in the NASCAR series. but also hosting the races such as ARCA, AM Superbike, USCC, SCCA And the Daytona 24 Rolexof .
The track itself is a created so multiple track layouts are easily adapted to the current race.
- The Primary track layout is a 2.5-mile (4.0 km) high-speed Tri-Oval.
- The 3,56 mile (5,73km) Sportscar course
- A 2.95-mile (4.75 km) Motorcycle course,
- And finall a 1,320-foot (400 m) karting flat-track.
When the track was built in 1959 by the NASCAR founder William France, Sr. the design was to create the very high banked turns to allow higher speeds and to give the fast a better view of the cars on the track. In 1998 they installed lights around the entire track, making it the third-largest single lit outdoor sports facility.
Today the grandstands have 101,000 permanent seats with the ability to increase permanent seating to 125,000.
